SERVICE OVERVIEW

Over the past six years, my service to Blue Lake University and the broader academic community has been multifaceted and impactful. As a member of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning Advisory Board since August 2013, I've played a critical role in shaping the university's strategic direction in teaching and learning. My contributions here involve endorsing innovative teaching techniques and assessing teaching innovation proposals, thereby fostering a culture of pedagogical excellence.

Concurrently, I have been an active member of the Assessment Committee, assisting in the development of policies and procedures to meet various academic assessment requirements. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and integrity of our institution's academic programs, aligning them with standards set by the Board of Regents, the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

From November 2016 to November 2018, I served on the Faculty Campus Council, representing faculty perspectives in governance and academic decisions. My involvement ensured that faculty views were integral in administrative appointments, performance reviews, and campus partnerships.

In my capacity as the Program Coordinator for the Educational Studies MA program since August 2017, I have been instrumental in curriculum development and maintaining program accreditation standards. This role involved the successful submission of curricular proposals and the completion of program assessment reports using the Xitracs system.

My commitment to diversity and inclusion has been evident through my service on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee since August 2013. In this capacity, I have participated in policy discussions and initiatives aimed at creating a more inclusive environment for all members of our academic community.

In addition to my service to the university, I have been a reviewer for the American Educational Research Association since September 2013. This role involves critically evaluating conference paper proposals, ensuring their alignment with AERA's academic standards and contributing to the advancement of scholarly inquiry in education.

My community engagement includes mentoring in the Youth Education Outreach Program since January 2014, where I have provided guidance and support to young individuals in their educational pursuits. Furthermore, as a volunteer in the Blue Lake School District STEM Program since October 2013, I have actively participated in fostering students' interest in STEM subjects, aiding their academic and personal development.

In sum, my service activities reflect a deep commitment to advancing teaching, learning, and academic excellence, both within Blue Lake University and in the wider educational landscape. Each role has enabled me to contribute significantly to the enrichment of our academic community, the professional development of my peers, and the growth and success of students at various educational levels.
